Overview
Some of the fields, e.g. Project Name, that you add to a report as you compose it can be filtered using filter options as explained in a table below. There are also fields, e.g. Critical Path, that cannot be filtered as they have no range of values. This is detailed under Filterless fields below.
In this article
Note
Some fields are designed to have no filter options, such as Description, or Delayed for, which is due to their highly variable nature. See table 2 for details.
Note
Unless otherwise stated, fields given in the table refer to both projects, activities, time entries and messages. See Explication under Table 1 for details.
Filter options
| Filter options | Comments | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| 1. None | No filter applies | Any field |
| 2. Prompt for single value | You will be asked to enter a specific single value for this field. Use this filter when you want the report to include a single item as identified by the value you specify. | — Actual budget profitability (P, X) — Actual hours — Amount (N, X) — Billable (E) — Billing — Billing flag (E) — Budget for project & its activities — Category (A) — Completed — Cost of time and expenses (P, N, X) — Cost variance (P, N) — CPI (P, A) — Creator — Customer (P) — Duration — Estimated budget profitability (P, X) — Estimated hours — Expected revenue (P, X) — Health — Hours left (A) — ID — Internal cost (P, N, X) — Internal estimated cost (P, N, X) — Is milestone (A) — Members — Name — Own estimated hours (E) — Percentage of project invoiced (P, N, X) — Planned expenses (P, N, X) — Posted by (E, M, N) — Priority — Priority order — Profit (P) — Profitability (P) — Profit health (P) — Progress — Cost of time and expenses (P, X) — SPI (P, A) — Status — Time cost (P) — Time usage (P) — Total invoiced (P) — Total expenses (P, N, X) — Total payments (P, N, X) — Type (A, E, M) — Upfront budget utilization (P, N, X) — Work in progress (P, N, X) |
| 3. Prompt for value range | The effect of this filter is to offer you to set a range of values to include items you want to show on the report. For example, if you have 10 tasks with IDs from 1 through 10, setting a range of 3 to 7 would get you tasks with IDs 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 included in the report. Use this option when you want to have the report to include items from a range you specify. It is handy for numerous items that permit ranging. | — Actual budget profitability (P, X) — Actual completion date — Actual hours (P, A) — Amount (N, X) — Billing — Budget for project & its activities — Cost of time and expenses (P, N, X) — Cost variance (P, N) — CPI (P, A) — Creation date — Date (E) — Duration — End date — Estimated budget profitability (P, X) — Estimated hours — Expected revenue (P, X) — Hours left (A) — ID — Internal cost (P) — Internal estimated cost (P) — Own estimated hours (E) — Percentage of project invoiced (P, N, X) — Planned expenses (P, N, X) — Priority order — Profit (P) — Profitability (P) — Profit health (P) — Progress — SPI (P, A) — Start date — Time cost (P) — Time usage (P) — Total invoiced (P) — Total expenses (P, N, X) — Total payments (P, N, X) — Upfront budget utilization (P, N, X) — Work in progress (P, N, X) |
| 4. Select from all values | This option lets you select from all values available for this field. It is handy since usually there are not so many to select from. For example, using this option you can easily include only projects with the "Closed" status, by deselecting other available statuses, such as "Open", "Suspended", etc. Use this option when you want to sort items by a parameter or two with only a few values normally to select from, e.g., activity statuses. | — Assignees (A) — Category (A) — Creator — Customer (P) — Managers (P, F) — Name — Posted by (E, M, N) — Priority — Status — Text (M) — Type (A, E, M) |
Explication:
A = activities, task, request or issue
P = projects
E = time entries
F = portfolios
M = messages
N = payments
Warning
Multiple choice is not supported for text custom fields.
