How do I indicate my share of work as completed?
Birdview allows you to indicate that you have accomplished your part of work being done by a group of assignees. This has the benefit of marking such activities as completed in both Activity center and My Assignments — they are shown greyed-out and crossed-out.
When you finish your assignment and wish to indicate that you've completed it — click the completion (checkmark) button (I'm done) next to the assignment on the My assignments screen. This will cause the task to disappear from the Active assignments tab. However, if you have been working on the task along with other assignees, and they have still not unfinished their work on the task, it will not get the completed status until the last of the assignees clicks I'm done in the task details.
Using I'm done in My Assignments
To mark your work on a task as done, hover over the assignment name and click the checkmark on the left. On clicking the checkmark, the task will disappear from the Active tab.
Using I'm Done in Activity center
When in Activity center, you have two ways to use I'm Done.
Method 1 Quick Action Menu
- Hover over the task you wish to use I'm Done on.
- Click More actions button ()
- Select I'm Done on the list of actions.
Method 2 Activity Details
- Hover over the task you wish to use I'm Done on.
- Click Details.
- Click the I'm Done button on the details panel.
Completing an activity with two or more assignees
An activity will close when the last of its assignees click I'm done.
For example:
Since the task is active, they both will have it on their In Progress tab, My Assignments.
As user X finishes his part, he clicks 'I'm done'. This will have a three-fold effects:
- The task disappears from user X's My Assignments page.
- In Design Website task's details, in Assignees section, user X will have the 'work is done' checkbox selected automatically.
- The task's status will not change.
User Y will, as before, have the task on his My Assignments page, and the task will not get Completed status until user Y clicks 'I'm done'.
