Required Permissions
You can move an activity to another project provided you have enough permissions in your access level.
Check out the table below for permissions you need to have enabled in your access level to be able to move an activity from a project to another:
Permission | Comments |
---|---|
Global permission 1. Access all projects 2. (Optional) Manage all portfolios (for portfolio projects) |
You need to have "Access all projects" global permission to be able to select a destination project which does not belong to a portfolio in which you have permission to view. See portfolio permissions below. Note: Permission "Manage all portfolios" is very powerful and is normally granted to select people with authority. It unlocks access to any portfolio projects which you cannot see if you're not part of them or not included in their portfolios with at least View permission. This option is quite rare. Normally, for portfolio projects, you will need to have been assigned to the portfolio with at least View permission to be able to access them. |
Portfolios 1. View |
You must have "View" permission in a portfolio to access the destination project belonging to it if you are not a member of the project. |
Projects 1. Edit 2. Manage members (View and manage) |
The Edit permission should be included in your acces level for the destination project of which you are not a member, and on the project from where the activity is moved. Refer to Permissions to learn more. |
Activities 1. View all 2. Add 3. Edit All 4. Delete all 5. Manage assignees |
The permissions should be included in your access level for both projects you are not a member of, and on the project from where the activity is moved. |
Time entries 1. View all 2. Add for someone else (Add own) 3. Delete all |
The permissions should be included in your access level for both projects you are not a member of, and on the project from where the activity is moved. |
Members and assignees 1. View and manage (Manage members) |
The permissions should be included in your access level for both projects you are not a member of ("View and manage"), and on the project from where the activity is moved ("Manage members"). See also project permissions above. |
If you lack some of the permissions, you will not be able to do the moving.
