Overview
Google SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) allows users to securely sign in to Birdview using their Google Workspace credentials. By enabling SAML authentication, organizations can centralize access control, enhance security, and simplify user management.
This guide will walk you through the process of configuring Google SAML in Birdview, including setting up the SAML application in Google Workspace, obtaining necessary metadata, and integrating it into Birdview. Follow the steps below to ensure a seamless setup.

Setup
To configure single sign-on to use Google SAML, follow the steps described below.
Step 1: Enable Birdview SSO SAML
This step involves turning on a SAML option in Birdview SSO settings:
- Click your user name at the bottom of the main menu and click through Company settings > Account settings > Single sign-on options.
- Toggle on
Enable single sign-on
and selectSAML
.
Step 2: Create a SAML App in Google Admin
To execute this step, follow Google's official guide on adding a custom SAML app and download a metadata file.
Step 3: Upload a metadata file in Birdview
For this step, go back to Birdview and do two things:
- Upload the metadata file from Step 2.
- Copy the Entity ID and Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URL from Birdview.
Step 4. Paste the Step 3 values into the Google SAML app
- Paste the values from Step 3 (2) into the corresponding fields in your Google SAML app, configured in accordance with the Google Guide.
- Leave optional settings empty.
In addition, Birdview allows you to:
- configure user provisioning for non-existing users, and
- customize the SSO login button text.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
Step 5. Allow your users to authenticate
Complete creation of the app in your Google WOrkspace. Don’t forget to turn the application ON for the users (Your app > User Access).
Step 6. All is now set! Test your login.
You can test from either Birdview login page or from Google SAML app using the Test your login function there.
