My settings - Profile

Overview

The Profile tab in My settings contains your profile details, such as your full name you are known by in the system, your avatar (an image you are using as yur personal identifier), email (can be used as a login name), and password.

The profile details are as follows:

Click Change to save your email address if edited.

Field Description Comments
Avatar Used to upload your picture to be used as an avatar.
  • The picture to be uploaded must have a maximum size of 5 MB.
  • Recommended image size is 160×160px.
  • Only .jpeg, .gif, or .png images are currently supported.
  • The avatar will appear on the left of the User menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  • It will also be used as your avatar in all your project or activity assignments.
Full name   Click Change to save your full name if edited.
Email  
Password change To change the current password, fill in the "Old password" and "New password" fields and click Change. The password must be at least 8 characters in length and include a minimum of 1 numeric character (0-9) and 1 special character (%, !, ?...).

Uploading an avatar

To upload your personal visual identifier (avatar), proceed as follows:

  1. Log in as usual. If you are logged in already, skip this step.
  2. Click your avatar in the bottom left to open the menu, then click My settings and select Profile.
  3. Click the circular image placeholder in the top left of your profile.
  4. Navigate to the image file on your computer, attached drives or network.
  5. Select the file and click Open.

Changing password

To change your user password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in as usual. If you are logged in already, skip this step.
  2. Click your avatar in the bottom left to open the menu, then click My settings and select Profile.
  3. Type your current password in the "Old password" field.
  4. Type a new password in the New password field.
  5. Click Change.

Recovering password

In case you have forgotten your password, you can have Birdview generate a new one for you so that you can sign in to your account. For detailed steps, see Company settings - Security policy - Password recovery.
