Overview

On the Notifications page, you can adjust your personal notification preferences. The settings are combined under three sections: Push notifications, Email notifications and Follower notifications. See Activity following to learn more.

Check out the table below for each of the settings.

Field Description Comments
Push notifications
Enable push notifications Push notifications are controlled by your browser and are designed to instantly deliver messages about new events as a popup window in the corner of your screen. The notifications work in Chrome, Firefox and Edge only.
Follow
I would like to become a follower automatically when...
I create an activity Toggle switch Turn it on to follow an activity you create.
I am assigned to an activity Toggle switch Turn it on to follow new assignments.
I add a message to an activity Toggle switch Turn it on to follow activities you post a message to.
Someone mentions me on an activity message board Toggle switch Turn it on to follow activities on whose messageboard you have been mentioned.
Email notifications
Send me email notifications Enable (toggle on) this setting if you want to receive notifications from Birdview. If you disable (toggle off) the setting, you will still get notifications about mentions, approval requests and new assignments.
Notify me about activities scheduled to end
A dropdown list:
  • Never
  • 1 day in advance
  • 2 days in advance
  • 3 days in advance
  • 4 days in advance
  • 5 days in advance
  • 6 days in advance
  • 7 days in advance
 This setting offers a range of choices. Choose whichever is appropriate. You will receive notification only on activities where you are one of the following:
  1. An assignee on the activities; or
  2. A member of the respective projects with the "Manage members" permission.
Send me a list of activities visible to me for the week ahead:
A dropdown list:
  • Never
  • Every Monday (the option and everyone below has a sub-list of options: "at 12 am, at 1 am, etc.".)
  • Every Tuesday
  • Every Wednesday 
  • Every Thursday 
  • Every Friday 
  • Every Saturday 
  • Every Sunday 
 Select whichever choice is appropriate. You will receive notification for:
  1. Activities where StartDate ≥ Today and StartDate ≤ Today+7 days; and you can view them and are a member of their projects. 
  2. Activities where EndDate ≥ Today AND EndDate ≤ Today+7 days; and you can view them and are a member of their projects.
  3. Events (on Calendar) where Today ≤ StartDate ≤ Today + 7 days OR Today + 1 day ≤ EndDate ≤ Today +7 days.
Send notification as...
A dropdown list:
  • A summary email combining all new notifications (The option has a sub-list of options: "every 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 (default) hours", or "every day".)
  • A separate email for each new notification
 Two choices are available:
  • "A summary email combining all new notifications" (The option has a sub-list of options: "every 1, 2, 4 (default), 8, 12 hours", or "every day").
  • "A separate email for each new notification".

This includes adding a sub-activity by another user to an activity being followed.

This option enables notification about the completion of the predecessor task in a F-S dependency. This allows you to be alerted early about the dependent/successor task being ready to be started.

Other events include updates of name, type, hours, progress, priority, category, etc.

 

Warning

You will never be notified about events related to draft or template projects.

Events you will be notified about include ones related to closed projects, i.e., whose status is a treat-as-completed one. See Workflows.
